According to Richters, this is a sacred sage of tropical, Southern Mexico's "Mazateca Indians". Simply chewing the fresh leaves induces psychotropic / hallucineogenic effects courtosy of compounds called "salvinorins". Even if you are not into '60s experiments, intensly dark blue flowers on broad, bright green leaves offer shady areas, a lush tropical look. Flowers mid-winter with "Fruit Sage".
