The life cycle of a biennial is basically two years. The first year it shoots up foliage and the second year it again shoots up foliage and produces seeds and dies, often re-seeding before its demise.

The plant isn't gigantic but the thick, juicy leaves are full of flavor. I used to think there weren't big differences in parsley flavor. Can be a culinary band-aid if too much sage, garlic (is that possible?) or hot peppers are used. Rich in Vitamin A, C, iron, and magnesium.
